Jazmin of Jinglewood: Tales of Wonder

This is a planned series of whimsical adventures set in the enchanting fantasy world of Jinglewood, where curiosity and kindness guide a nine-year-old girl through magical mischief and heartfelt discoveries.

Jazmin & the Pixie Dust

In the quiet village of Knogg, nestled deep in the magical realm of Jinglewood, lives clever, young Jazmin More – vivacious, daring, and with a head full of mischief. With rhyme in every line and wonder in every twist, this lyrical tale celebrates courage, compassion, and the spark of magic found in everyday choices.

Jazmin and the Pixie Dust – Excerpt

In a tiny village called Knogg
Stood a house of brick and log
Here lived a family of four
Flora, Jazmin, Mr. And Mrs. More

Julian More had a mystical mind
His wife Lilian, gracious and kind
Baby Flora lit up their world
Jazmin kept it in a twirl

On the day Jazmin turned nine
She decided that it must be time
To procure her most favourite treat
From the makers themselves to eat

But this was no easy task
For Jazmin loved a Maizin flask
Butter cream and yogurt in honey
Made Maizin for lots of money

Novels

Lori of Zirit

Lori of Zirit is a fantasy novel revolving around twelve-year-old Lori in the magical world of Zirit. It is to be a six-book series, with each book chronicling two years of Lori‘s life, as she matures, and her experiences in Zirit. LOZ is fantasy, literature, myth and folklore woven together – in the form of visual descriptions and poetry sprinkled between its chapters. Many of the key exploits are rooted in rich Indian mythology and legends that have been etched in my mind since childhood due to their colourful depictions and unique cultural lore.

Book 1

When her grandfather is killed, Lori finds herself suddenly stranded and alone. She must travel through the fantasy land of Zirit, leaving behind the little hamlet where she spent her entire childhood, in search of safety and answers.

The journey she embarks on introduces her to an intriguing world she barely knew existed. Here she encounters many magical Tribes and Creatures – each with their own distinctive traits – and uncovers the workings of Emerald or nature-based magic that stems from Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

But before Lori can settle in with her new friends, she finds herself transported to the non-magical realm of Yudland (our world) – and facing the perils of Ruby magic – a dark evil that threatens to destroy all that Zirit stands for.

In this enchanting, fast-paced adventure where a new thrill awaits at every turn, Lori must not only travel back to Zirit – her home – but also discover the origin and extent of her own unique magical powers.

LORI OF ZIRIT: BOOK ONE of SIX – Excerpt

Inky clouds embossed in an eerie glow shrouded an ominous crescent moon, that flickered over a grove of Sakoya trees in the Zinolin Jungle, where a pride of Yuri lounged in languid dalliance. A distant lull that originated from the ebb and flow of the Zinta river chimed over their lazy muzzles and full bellies. Sounds and cries of a rich variety, emanating from creatures of many an ilk, echoed throughout the lush verdant coverture of Zinolin. Adults of the Yuri pride squatted away Flying-fluffs as they lay on the soft earth, while the younger ones scampered about, playing their usual games. Some distance away, hidden from their view, a pair of bloodshot eyes observed their every movement thirstily from the elevated foliage of a Baobab tree.
